2008 Colorado Conservation Summit

2008 Colorado Conservation Summit: Colorado Wildlife at a Crossroads

The towering peaks, rushing streams and clear skies that define Colorado as one of the world’s last, best places also make our state home to some of the most important wildlife habitat in North America. But our wildlife and the habitat needed to survive are increasingly at risk from unprecedented threats, among them population growth, climate change and resource development pressure. These natural treasures are core elements for our quality of life and fundamental to a sustainable economy. If we are to serve as stewards, we—as people who love Colorado–must work proactively to set clear goals of what we want Colorado to be in 2050. We must decide how we will work together to achieve this vision and how we will live up to our generation’s responsibility as wise stewards of the land. Join hunters and anglers, conservationists, landowners, farmers, ranchers, outdoor enthusiasts and others from across the state to meet this challenge.
